Curious Projects was an artist-run endeavour based in Eastbourne. It was initiated in 2014 by artist Alexandra Valy after she moved here from London, and it closed in 2016. Projects included: curating a tiny contemporary art exhibition space, artist talks, adult short courses & workshops, affordable artists studios, a studio residency, discussion events and curated group exhibitions.
There are currently no plans for future projects.
"The first thing that struck me when it came to installing the piece was just how spatially deceptive this long, tall, thin space is."

The Labyrinth:
THE LABYRINTH
From June 2014 to June 2016, Curious Projects curated a programme of exhibitions in a tiny (but quirky) space in The Labyrinth in central Eastbourne.
We exhibited ambitious sculptural and installation work, aiming to support artistic practices which involve 'making' within a contemporary critical framework.
Previously a shop window, the space was situated in an indoor Edwardian shopping arcade, incongruously nestled between a nail salon, a florist and a palm reader. We were particularly interested in work that could provide fuel for discussions on the interplay (or perhaps disjunction) between making and thinking.
OTHER PROJECTS
Past projects included the exhibition 'Human nature' we curated in 2015 as part of our
'Big Art Weekend'.
